The Reimers 'Cue-Ball' Chamber for criminal/deviant patients

disclamer

In perhaps the boldest, most unprecedented proposal yet for off-label HBO, hyperbaric chamber manufacturer and engineer Steve Reimers has invented "the Cue Ball" hyperbaric chamber, designed specifically for prison populations and other deviant or criminal groups.

Ignoring the limits imposed by the UHMS indications list, Reimers bravely acknowledges the 20+ year history of brain injury recovery via HBO. With full recognition given to the foundations laid by HBO pioneers Dr. Richard Neubauer and Dr. David Steenblock, the Reimers Cue Ball system has tremendous commercial potential.

Based primarily upon Russian research, HBO can actually change the physical structure of the criminal brain while eliminating the addictions implanted from substance abuse. Alcoholism is one such specific target.

The Reimers Cue Ball provides installation of a hyperbaric system without the need for removing doors or walls. The Cue Ball chamber can pass through a standard 36-inch doorway. Said Reimers, "The Cue Ball family of monoplace, sit-up format hyperbaric chamber systems are space efficient allowing cost effective and code-compliant hyperbaric facilities in places never possible before."

Traditional monoplace chambers typically require a minimum 48-inch width for room entry. This requires removal and alteration of doorways, which require a tremendous time and construction expenditure, yet one more cost for an intervention most physicians and facilities are already leery of to begin with. The Reimers Cue Ball installs with zero room modification. New facilities can possibly even lease Cue Balls on a trial basis before making a final investment decision.

Even if floor space is still unavailable, the Cue Ball system can also be set up in a trailer, similar to the service method by
Tom Fox of American Hyperbarics.

The cueball system was initially proposed to the North Dakota Commission on Alternatives to Incarceration in April, 2008. According to
Reimers, a decision is still pending.
